Lyceum of the Philippines University “LPU”, established in 1952 by its founder Dr Jose P Laurel;, the ex President of the Philipines, who led the Country though the Second World War. LPU has five campuses in Manila, Makati,Cavite, Batangas, Lahuna and Davoa with a grand total enrollment of approximately 37,000 students, about 15,000 of whom are enrolled in various hospitality courses.

Based on the relationship between the owning families of Norstar and LPU, a partnership was formed in 2025 to gain access to LPU students for placement in job opportunities overseas. Across its 5 campuses LPU offer a broad range of education starting at Jr high school all the way through to degree and non-degree courses. LPU Batangas has a Maritime training centre where candidates undergoes basic training to obtain the necessary training and certification for working in the Cruise industry. This combined with their College of International Tourism and Hospitality Management is a great foundation for a career onboard.

LPU’s junior and high school programs provide an excellent opportunity to engage with students from an early age on a career in hospitality on cruise vessels.
